Our Little Tease

I have decided that Quinn is a tease. He first accidentally rolled from his tummy to his back nearly two months ago, but that was just because he got off balance. Recently he has learned how to roll from his back to his side and was VERY close to going all the way on Sunday. Hence the poor quality cell phone video.

We decided to pick the day we thought he would roll over. Troy chose today. I picked a week from yesterday. Grandma picked Mother's Day and Grandpa chose not to participate. He was not close at all to going from his tummy to back (because I'm a bad mom and forget to give him tummy time). Well, along comes Monday. I was making dinner and Troy was watching Quinn during tummy time. He reached to get the remote and when he turned around, Quinn was on his back! He then rolled over twice more in the next ten minutes. Again, I only had the cell phone handy. One day I will actually get something good on the real video camera.

Then Quinn rolled over again that night. So he's got it figured out, right? Wrong. He has not done it since. And he hasn't come as close from his back, either. I think he just likes to get us excited and then would yell "Psych" if he could.

I've got the giggles

I have discovered one really strange side effect of pregnancy--things are really funny. In just the last week, these are a few of the things I've found hilarious: (unfortunately I can't find videos of any of them to post) a referee falling down in OT of Sunday's Cardinals/Packer game, Carmelo Anthony getting a basketball in the face when he missed a pass from Keynon Martin, PTI anchor Mike Wilbon's expression of disgust as he looked at the camera when discussing how much money Randy Jackson has, and Michael Scott's face as he sings "Two Tickets to Paradise" in anticipation of his upcoming trip to a Sandals resort. All very silly things, but simply hilarious. I had noticed that I seemed to be laughing more a few months ago, but this week Troy noticed it and now thinks I'm crazy. Oh well, it's a good side effect to have, I guess. I keep hoping that one of these laughing fits will put me in labor, but no such luck.

As Promised

Here is the video of us telling my family we were having a baby. We went to Utah right after Father's Day, so we decided to give my mom and dad little onesies about grandparents because this will be their first grandchild. It took my mom and dad a while to understand what was going on, but as you will see, my sister Sarah picked up on it first. Poor girl has more emotion in her little body than the rest of the family put together, so that explains her reaction.

WARNING: Do NOT watch this video around sleeping babies or anyone else sensitive to loud sounds. Do NOT turn up the volume on your computer, there's nothing to hear at the first of the video and your speakers may never recover. :) It's cell phone video so the quality it really bad, but I still love it. And I love Sarah.

Rummage Giveaway

This is our stuff before we loaded it up and said goodbye:

I don't miss it at all. It took both cars to get it down to the church and Troy made lots of trips from car to building to get it all inside.
Troy had be at the church Saturday morning to help out with the giveaway and he said it was crazy seeing all the people lined up outside and then even crazier when they opened the doors and people rushed it. He jokes that there was a lady on a rascal scooter running people over to get to the Mormon's good junk. Next time he wants to set up a video camera to film the madness.

Anyway, it was a success. I got there after everyone was inside, so I found a spot on the couch in the foyer and watched the people as they left with their treasures. I'm glad that the things I no longer wanted could help people who obviously needed them. And the missionaries every handed out a few pass-along cards, so maybe someone will find something even better than a few t-shirts and muffin tins. :)

A little pick-me-up

My cousin posted a link to this video and it made me smile. Good dancing, Matt.

A little more funny each time I tell it

Okay, although this is slightly embarrassing, I'll share it with all of you in hopes of brightening your day.

Last night I was walking through my living room in the dark. I do this nearly nightly because the light switch is not in a convenient place. Anyway, I had reached the end of the room and was headed into the hallway. Or so I thought. I walked right into the wall. Yep, full stride with a solid crack as my face hit sheetrock. And I was wearing glasses so the bridge piece (or whatever it's called) and nose pieces jabbed right into my nose. It hurt so bad! I didn't tell Troy about it for a while (I was kind of embarrassed), but as I was falling asleep my face hurt so bad I had to tell him about it. Now I have a red bruise on the bridge of my nose. People probably just think I have some kind of weird skin condition, but it will be really hard to explain once it turns purple. Oh, poor me. However, I am happy to report that there are no signs of my clusminess on my forehead.

The bruise doesn't show up too well in the pic, but I assure you it hurts. Even when I don't touch it, I can feel my boo-boo. :) Oh well, I already have the Curtis bump, what's a little more, right?

I Hate Wendy's

Okay, I love Wendy's but this is mega funny. My favorite part is Day 2, so if you're short on time, fast forward.

Need a Little Cheering Up?

My friend Michelle has the cutest/funniest video of her son on her blog. Check it out at http://shelle.wordpress.com/2007/11/08/361/ He's going to be a dancing phenom someday, I tell you.

This One's Just Too Funny

I'm trying to stay occupied tonight. I promise this one is a riot

Say What?!: because you just can't have it all . . .

A Blog Worth Browsing

I ran onto this rather funny blog called The "Blog" of "Unnecessary" Quotation Marks. For those punctuation and grammar fans out there, it's pretty entertaining.

Oh Indiana!

So yesterday Troy and I were playing Monopoly. We don't do this often because I always lose and it's no fun to lose at Monopoly because once you start losing it just gets sadder and sadder. Anyway, we played last week and I won (thank you Boardwalk), so when Troy pulled it out yesterday I wasn't too opposed. So we're playing along and we're both broke, but Troy and I play the big bucks Free Parking way and he landed on it. He made mucho dinero and started building houses on his only monopoly so he could go for the kill. I was pretty sad, but decided I'd stick it out a little longer to prolong his happiness (what's a wife for, right?). I tried offering him some really bad deals so I could at least get a monopoly (as in I was trying to give him two cheap-o, mortgaged properties for Park Place), but he wouldn't bite.

Finally I picked up the last yellow property and scrimped and saved until I could put a couple houses up (I promise this will get good soon). He kept landing on my stuff and I kept building, but I was also rolling very well and never landed on his properties. Yay! Anyway, he lost.

However, when he lost he started playfully tossing the board and money and everything else. I was laughing while he kept doing it as I tried in vain to clean up. So I would try to sort the mess and he would toss more paper money, chance cards and property titles in the air. Finally he stopped and guess what---that's right. As we cleaned up the game, we discovered he'd lost Indiana. Now Monopoly is ruined forever because I'm married to a pouter.

We've now decided that whenever Troy screws up I can call him Indiana (not after the dog, for you Harrison Ford fans) because after searching everywhere in the room, the piece is lost forever. Well, maybe just until we move, but it's still a funny story.
